Moon Sweepers Upgrades: Choose the Right Category
| Category | Question it addresses | Verified scope |
|---|---|---|
| Cleaning tools | What will help with the cleaning task in front of me? | The game starts with a toothbrush and includes better tools. [1] |
| Carrying capacity | How often do I interrupt work to deliver a load? | The official description explicitly includes capacity upgrades. [1] |
| Cleaning vehicles | Does transport or larger-scale cleaning justify a vehicle? | Vehicles are part of the official progression. [1] |
| Upgrade matrix | Which purchased benefits apply to the crew? | The whole crew uses the host’s matrix from patch 1.0.3. [2] |
Compare brushes using the task you actually repeat
Before purchasing another tool, inspect its displayed effect, current cost and unlock requirement. Compare one similar cleaning task with your current tool rather than assuming that the most expensive option has the best payback.
The official store does not enumerate every brush, width, carrying limit or upgrade price. This page therefore does not turn an unverified community brush list into an official progression table. [1]
- Choose a small area that is practical to compare.
- Include delivery time when judging whether the upgrade helps your full loop.
- Record the game version with any figures you keep.
- Keep a note of what the upgrade actually changes, rather than relying on its name.
Buy capacity when it solves a delivery bottleneck
A capacity purchase is worth investigating when frequent full loads interrupt otherwise productive work. The benefit depends on the return journey and the rest of the cycle; it is not automatically equal to the percentage increase in storage.
Read the in-game description carefully for the upgrade’s scope. The official material checked here does not establish that every capacity purchase applies to every tool, vehicle or player inventory.
Check prerequisites and shared progression before buying
Patch 1.0.3 explicitly changed the crew to the host’s upgrade matrix: purchases in that matrix benefit the crew, and older saves keep the highest level previously bought. A launch-day claim that every player must repeat all matrix purchases is therefore out of date for that change. [2]
- Read the current prerequisite before saving for an item.
- In co-op, decide on the next shared matrix purchase together.
- Do not assume that shared matrix progression proves that every personal item or save follows the same rule.
- When comparing two guide tables, check their game versions before comparing their prices.
Check garage functions before committing to a vehicle
The 1.0.3 vehicle notes state that owned vehicles can be recalled, stored and upgraded through any garage. They also say demolishing a garage no longer deletes its stored vehicles; those vehicles move to another garage or wait for a later one. These are version-specific ownership and garage changes, not a vehicle price ranking. [2]
- Inspect the garage requirements and your available building space.
- Check the exact vehicle’s cost, capacity and work description in your installed build.
- Ask which part of your current work it would replace.
- Compare total cycle time and cost before calling one vehicle the best value.
Use a conditional buying order
| Situation | Priority to investigate | Decision check |
|---|---|---|
| Cleaning dominates the loop | A relevant cleaning-tool improvement | Does it reduce the time spent on your usual task? |
| Return trips dominate | Carrying capacity or a more convenient delivery arrangement | Does it remove trips rather than move the delay elsewhere? |
| The operation is expanding | Vehicle or logistics requirements | Can the rest of the workflow handle the increased output? |
| Funds are limited | One purchase with a clear purpose | Can you explain the benefit without assuming an unknown multiplier? |
Separate affordability from payback
Affordability needs a budget and a price. Payback also needs a defensible change in earnings: purchase cost ÷ additional credits per minute. If the income increase is unknown, the purchase can still be budgeted, but its payback cannot be honestly ranked.
Use your game’s current values and label your own estimates. No tool should infer improved income merely from a brush name or crew size.
